Magnet strength is in ideal conditions. The strength may decrease if the object is not made of pure steel, has a layer of other material (such as paint) on it, has an uneven/curved surface, the magnet is pulled at an angle to the contact area (not exactly in the direction of magnetization), the surface of the object is partially rusted, or the thickness of the steel is not sufficient. It is recommended to choose magnets with a higher breakaway force and to test the magnets first under heavier conditions before purchasing larger quantities.
