Description:
Oil separators must be installed in a vertical position. If the condenser is installed higher than the oil separator, it is advisable to include a check valve to prevent liquid refrigerant from returning to the separator. It is essential to add the specified amount of oil through the outlet connection. The separator body must be kept cool during the welding of the inlet and outlet connections. The inlet diameter of the separator should not be smaller than the compressor discharge diameter. To avoid excessive turbulence and noise, it is recommended to avoid high refrigerant gas velocities through the separator; the recommended velocity is 0.4 – 0.6 m/s. To check the correct operation of the separator, we suggest installing a liquid flow indicator model SPL on the return line to the compressor.
Construction Materials:
The filter body is entirely made of steel. The flare connection fittings are copper-plated steel, while the weld fittings are entirely made of copper. The internal filter is made of pure borosilicate.
