The ICMA 50 Y strainer is a hydraulic component designed to protect water distribution systems from solid debris present in the fluid (such as sand, welding residues or metallic impurities), preventing blockages in valves, meters, pressure reducers, pumps and other downstream devices. It is an angled (Y) filter with a brass body equipped with a removable internal metal mesh that collects impurities.
The standard filtration degree is between 400 µm and 500 µm, suitable for general protection of civil and technical hydraulic circuits (upon request it may also be available with a finer 200 µm mesh). The mesh is made of AISI 304 stainless steel, resistant to corrosion and easy to clean or replace during periodic maintenance.
The Y design promotes a regular water flow while minimizing pressure loss, while the inspection plug allows quick access to the filtering mesh for cleaning operations. The ISO 228/1 standard threading ensures compatibility with most piping and threaded connections in water and heating systems.
