Descrizione
Tool to test total dissolved solids concentration in water – Fernox TDS meter Description:
The TDS meter (Total Dissolved Solids meter) provides a quick and accurate field test to determine the concentration of total dissolved solids in system and mains water. The main use of the TDS meter is to establish whether a system has been correctly flushed after a chemical clean. This is done by comparing readings between samples of mains water and system water.
A quick and accurate on-site test to determine Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) concentration.
Easy to use
Compares the quality of mains water and system water
Application:
1. Switch the meter on using the ON/OFF button.
2. Remove the protective cap and pull out the electrode. If necessary, adjust the electrode length.
3. Rinse the electrode with clean water and dry it. Immerse the electrode in the calibration solution (1413 µs/cm). Stir slowly and wait for the display to stabilise.
4. Set the reading parameters to 141 (1410µs/cm) for conductivity or 94 (940 ppm) for TDS at 25°C by adjusting (with a screwdriver) the trimmer located on the right-hand side of the meter.
5. Rinse the electrode with clean water and dry it. Immerse the electrode in the sample solution to be tested. Stir slowly and wait for the reading to stabilise.
6. Read the results on the display. The reading value should be multiplied by 10 for conductivity or TDS.
7. After the reading, rinse the electrode with clean water and refit the protective cap.
Use with chemical cleaners:
To check whether the system has been drained after using chemical cleaners, perform steps 1 to 5 with both system water and tap water and compare the results. The system can be considered fully drained if the difference between the two readings is 10% or less. A difference greater than 20% indicates the presence of high levels of residual cleaner in the system.
Maintenance:
The TDS meter is virtually maintenance-free. Replace the battery when the unit does not switch on or if the display begins to fade. Calibration is not required when taking comparative readings, but it may be required for accurate concentration checks.
